Care and Maintenance

Proper care will help keep the Coronado looking good and operating reliably over time.


  • Always turn off, unplug, and allow the sauna to cool completely before cleaning or performing maintenance.

  • Before the first use, wipe down the interior surfaces with a damp cloth. HeatWave also recommends running the sauna at 104°F for one hour before initial use to help burn off any factory dust.

  • Wipe interior wood surfaces with a damp cloth only. Do not use chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents on the unfinished interior wood.

  • The exterior may be cleaned with furniture polish or furniture oil as recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Use towels on the bench and floor during sessions to help absorb perspiration and keep the interior cleaner.

  • Keep the heater areas clear and never spray water directly onto the heating elements.

  • Natural variations in wood color, grain, knots, minor cracks, expansion, contraction, and gradual darkening are normal characteristics of the hemlock and are not considered defects.

  • Periodically check that accessories, panel connections, controls, lighting, and other components remain secure and in good working order.

  • Follow the owner’s manual for any troubleshooting, maintenance, or replacement-part procedures. Unauthorized electrical repairs or modifications can void the warranty.
