To help protect the ALEKO Arnica and keep the cedar in good condition, ALEKO recommends applying an exterior wood stain to the outside surfaces only. Do not stain the interior wood, since the interior should remain untreated for proper sauna use. Keep the roof and shingles clear of leaves, dirt, branches, moss, and other organic buildup that can trap moisture.
After each sauna session, run the heater for approximately 20 to 30 minutes to help dry the interior wood. Leave the door slightly open, keep the ventilation openings clear, remove wet towels and accessories, and wipe the benches dry if moisture is present.
ALEKO also recommends heating the sauna about once per week to 160 to 175°F for 30 to 45 minutes to help remove moisture trapped in the wood. Afterward, allow the sauna to cool with the door slightly open so the interior can dry fully.
For monthly care, clean the benches and interior walls with a mild sauna cleaner or diluted vinegar solution. Lightly sand any discolored, soiled, or rough areas of wood as needed, and make sure all ventilation openings remain clear and unobstructed.
During winter or extended periods of non-use, do not seal the sauna airtight. Keep the vents open and functional, and run a weekly heating cycle to help prevent condensation buildup.
